I retired from the USAF in early 1999 and due to job requirements moved to Atlanta, GA with Delta Air Lines. As the biggest and busiest commute system in the world I started running into many familiar faces. After a few years in the area forcing myself to like GA one-by-one I started running into some old familiar faces from Westbury. I believe it was my third year here after getting together with the gang, (Kenny Waterman, Bobby Latimer, Michael Garland, Reggie Grange, Daryl Stewart and Mark Gillum) as I call us, I ran it by them to have a get together in a neutral park to try and pull together other Westburites.. and so it began Westbury in Atlanta. It started out with folks in the Metro Atlanta area and North Carolina and has touched such places as Augusta, Texas, Florida, Ohio, Upstate NY and even Westbury to our gathering. We meet in Stone Mountain Park at a picinic area off of Robert E. Lee Blvd the third Saturday in August from early afternoon till dark (when the park displays fire works on the mountain). With the lose of one of our sisters (Eileen Robinson) we emphaze more why we need to come together to socialize with our Westbury family….to put it simply, tomorrow is not promised to any of us! I get excited seeing all of my Westbury family members and even more so when more come out to get together. So this is why I think this website is so important and why we need to share it with more Westbury High School alumni’s……to reach out and touch each other.
Wow! In the last few days we have had nearly 60 new registered users. Fantastic. I am going to guess Vicki gets the credit (my only clue was from a comment from Yvonne). Thanks Victoria! Great pics by the way! So which of those beautiful people are you? If anyone has any more, please publish them for all to enjoy. I left instructions at the bottom of the Photos page, but if anyone needs help, just send me a note (or Vicki, she seems to have this place wired pretty well!). And, oh yea, remember, if anyone would like to post a note (like this one), feel free.
Just got back from New York. Here are the goods:
Ok, now it’s your turn. If you were there, and you took a few pictures, please share. You could attache them in an email sent to postthisnow@westburyhigh.us (just like I just did with this message). Your message will show up just like this one did, no fuss, no muss. Or you could send them to me (phil@philglov.com), or tell me where to get them.

To Jenette, and Julia, I wanted to thank you for keeping the candle lit, as it were, while keeping in touch with all of us. Web tools have come a long way. In twenty minutes, if you know what your doing, you can have the whole shootin-match on the web. So, if you read between the lines you should know it took me a few hours. . .
This is a start. The “All Class” flyer has it’s own page. “This” page is the front page, and it is wide open for anyone to post a message, make a statement, splash a picture, whatever.
To “Post”, simply send your message via email to ” postthisnow@westburyhigh.us”. The email subject line will be the post title. Pictures may also be attached to the email, they will show up after any email message text (if any).
Class of ’78 is having a 30 year reunion in September, so I’ll add another page for that, along with some pictures from the last one (’98). I’ll also add a more formal photo gallery page people can use, and smooth out some rough edges sometime soon.
Like I said, the front page is wide open. It’s a bit of a security risk, and I suspect sometime in the future we will have to limit email “posts” to registered users. But until something breaks lets just run with it . . .
